POEM - the fallen rainbow (2022)

Lilac symbolises our springtime love

Born and raised in shades of lavender

Weaving the flowers around our heads

Like the flower crowns 

We once made for each other 

On hazy violet days

Purple is the colour

that leaked out of my veins

the first time you cut -  


My cornflower daydreams

and your navy mood 

Crash to become a sapphire future

I look over my shoulder to see our 

Midnight explosions 

And only then

I knew it was time to lay this -


To unassuming eyes 

You seem lime green

People fail to see your seaweed

I was too focused on the emerald within

And while they failed to see the dark

I failed to see -


The amber gaze 

Set in one evening 

On a night you left me alone 

Honey tinted hair blowing in the wind

Watching our memories pass us by 

In the sandstorm of our -


Living in hell.

That’s where I resided for months.

Bronze shackles locking my ankles

Burnt sienna staining my skin

But I still held onto the sunstone

Which encapsulated -
